New Car

I told you about our trip to Albuquerque early in July when our Blazer just stopped running. Because it was the day before the holiday and several were taking vacations that week, they couldn't get to working on it until the following week. And then there was only one man in the shop who had any experience working with rusted vehicles (caused by living in the rust belt), so work was slow. The repairman kept us informed as to what he was finding but one day called us in saying Rich needed to look. They had taken off the gas tank, lots of hoses broke in the process but they could be repaired. It was the gas tank itself... rusted almost thru and full of rust on the inside. And that was just the beginning. Not safe to drive!

Our alternative was to get a new vehicle. Talk about God's timing. We found a vehicle that had come in after ours and needed a new belt and battery. We test drove and liked it so told them we wanted to buy and asked them to get it ready for us. It's a Mitsubishi Montero Sport and this was a Chevy dealer so they didn't have the parts or manuals. Parts were ordered but installed wrong so the car ended up being taken to Abq for the resets of alarms, etc. But the afternoon after we'd let them know we wanted the car and the paperwork was started, two other parties came in to buy the SUV - it was still setting on the lot, why not! Only to be told it was sold. If we hadn't taken it when we did we wouldn't have been able to get a vehicle within our budget... in fact this one was $2000 under. Isn't God good? Now we have a reliable vehicle!!! And it's pretty!
